How this tier list works

Build The Pyramid Together! has no collectible fighter roster like an anime battler. Your “units” are player roles inside a 25-person co-op simulation. This hub ranks those roles by impact on clear speed and badge success: stacking the cursed pyramid, returning the slab, and defeating the Pharaoh Boss before the Supreme Pharaoh curse spiral.

Criteria: contribution to brick throughput, objective reliability, boss survival, and how replaceable the role is in a random public lobby. Re-read after patches on Updates.

S tier — always want these

Carrier (group-boosted)

Carriers who already joined TestGrounds32 for +3 blocks carry capacity are the engine of every fast clear. Full loads, fixed routes, zero sightseeing. A lobby with many boosted Carriers finishes construction while people still care about the boss.

Why S: multiplies everyone’s time. Without them, Stackers starve and Fighters AFK.

How to play: read Build Faster, claim the bonus via Codes notes, and ferry until the Scout calls slab or boss.

Stacker (face owner)

Dedicated Stackers turn raw bricks into a climbable, pathable pyramid. They own a face, fill gaps, and refuse floating junk piles.

Why S: bad placement creates invisible time debt. Good placement creates boss routes.

How to play: stand at the drop marker, call “need bricks,” and protect doorways for the later fight.

A tier — win conditions

Fighter (committed)

Fighters show up at the Pharaoh door with attention left in the tank. They learn one dodge cycle, focus fire, and respawn sprint back after deaths.

Why A: the defeat badge requires a kill, not a pretty monument. Uncommitted “fighters” who keep decorating outer walls are B at best.

How to play: Beat Pharaoh Boss checklist, gather on the Reach badge pop, finish the job.

Scout / Caller

Scouts watch slab availability, curse risk, and player count. They type short orders because voice chat is unsupported.

Why A: twenty silent carriers still fail Return the Slab. One good caller raises clear rate more than one extra random body.

How to play: claim the role at spawn, use the callout scripts from the slab and players guides, and hand off if you must carry.

B tier — useful situational

Flex Carrier (no group bonus yet)

Still helpful, but strictly worse than boosted Carriers. Spend thirty seconds joining the group instead of normalizing base capacity.

Late Stacker / Cosmetics Builder

Helpful after the critical path exists. Harmful if they decorate while the boss route is closed. Move them to gap-fill duty.

Support / Path Clearer

Players who kick debris, unstick teammates, and keep ramps open during slab escorts. Shine in crowded pubs; less critical in tiny private servers.

C tier — neutral or risky

Tourist

Takes screenshots, explores outer sands, ignores callouts. Harmless until they block doors. Ask them to carry or kick AFK.

Solo Hero Slab Runner

Grabs the slab with zero escorts in a full lobby. Sometimes works; often resets the objective and tilts the Scout.

Script User in Public

May move bricks quickly or may scatter placements and risk reports. Account bans are real — see Scripts. Ranked C because even “successful” cheats can ruin co-op trust.

F tier — actively hurts clears

Doorway AFK

Blocks carriers and fighters. Move or leave.

Grief Stacker

Deletes or misplaces others’ work on purpose. Report and ignore.

Rage Quit Mid-Boss

Drops fighter count during the kill phase after burning twenty minutes of build time. If you must leave, say so before the pull.

Suggested party composition

For a serious 12–20 player attempt:

  • 6–10 boosted Carriers
  • 2–4 Stackers
  • 1–2 Scouts
  • 4+ Fighters on standby by late build
  • Flex everyone else between carry and path clear

For a 5–8 player private duo-stack:

  • Everyone carries with group bonus
  • One primary Stacker
  • Rotate Scout duty
  • All hands become Fighters at pull

More composition advice sits on Players.

Matching roles to badges

  • Build The Pyramid! — Carriers and Stackers
  • Reach The Pharaoh Boss! — Scouts plus construction quality
  • Defeated The Pharaoh Boss! — Fighters plus everyone who did not leave early

If your group always earns Reach but not Defeat, promote Fighters from B-reading tourists to A-reading commits. If you never Reach, your Carriers and Stackers need the Getting Started and build guides before another boss theory craft.

Updating the meta

Role value can shift if TestGrounds32 changes carry rules, slab triggers, or boss telegraphs. After the known 9 January 2026 update window and any future patch, re-test whether Scouts need more bodies or whether Carriers remain king. Track notes on Updates and keep official links handy on the Wiki hub.

How to use this list in chat

Paste a short draft at session start:

“Roles: carriers join group for +3, 2 stackers on north face, I scout slab, fighters hold for Pharaoh.”

Then link teammates to Guides if they need mechanical detail. Tier lists do not replace practice — they stop lobbies from running five tourists and zero Scouts.

Play your S-tier role well and Build the Pyramid’s co-op fantasy finally matches the trailer promise: stack together, return the slab, beat the Pharaoh.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

What is the best role for beginners?

Group-boosted Carrier. Learn routes first, then try Stacker. Fight the boss after you understand movement.

Is Fighter the best role overall?

Fighter is A tier for the kill badge, but without Carriers and Stackers you never arrive ready. Boosted Carrier remains S.

Do we need a Scout every game?

In public lobbies, yes. Someone must own slab callouts or the objective gets ignored.

Where does the group +3 bonus fit?

It upgrades Carrier from strong to S tier. Join TestGrounds32 before long grind sessions.

Are scripts a tier?

Public script use ranks C or worse because of ban risk and grief potential. Prefer legitimate roles.

How often will this list change?

After major patches that alter carry, slab, or boss rules. Check the Updates hub when the place refreshes.
